Worst of the week
Our table for two had twelve menus
Entered in Week of Oct 12
She texted that she loved a generous gentleman. I wore my nice shirt and mentally budgeted for appetizers. At the pizza place, she waved from a table set for twelve.
Her sister arrived with ten children from a family outing. The kids were polite. One immediately asked if I knew this was happening, which was more informed consent than I'd received from my date.
She handed me a paper crown that said PIZZA SPONSOR.
Apparently she'd promised to cover dinner, then decided finding a boyfriend was a funding strategy. She said paying would show I was “ready to join the village.” We hadn't even established whether I liked her village.
Her sister looked horrified and offered to handle the order. My date objected because she'd already announced my sponsorship in the family chat.
I paid for my soda and left the crown on the table.
She texted that I'd embarrassed her in front of everyone.
Then she sent a photo of the crown and asked if I wanted to reimburse her for branding.
