She needed a boyfriend for the bouquet footage

Entered in Week of November 2, 2026

She invited me to a wedding reception for our first date, assuring me the couple knew she was bringing someone. I figured dancing might be less awkward than coffee. My judgment remains under review. Before we went inside, she handed me a diagram of the bouquet toss. My position was marked “devoted boyfriend.” I was supposed to film her catching it, gasp, and say, “Guess I'm next!” She wanted the clip for her ex to see. I suggested simply enjoying the wedding, a proposal she treated as sabotage. She then approached the bride to request a practice toss. The bride said no. My date asked whether the bouquet could be handed over discreetly and the surprise added later. When the real toss happened, someone else caught it. My date immediately asked to borrow the flowers for “a continuity correction.” I left after thanking the couple. She texted that I had ruined our romantic story. We hadn't shared a dance, but apparently I was already difficult to work with in postproduction.
