He tried to flip our reservation before appetizers

He picked a restaurant that was supposedly impossible to get into. I told my friends I'd finally met a guy who could make a plan. Please respect my privacy during this difficult correction.
Before we ordered, he put a little RESERVED sign on our table. It hadn't come from the restaurant. It was laminated and had his face on it.
Then he started approaching couples near the host stand.
Turns out our date was a demonstration of his new business: getting desirable tables, sitting down, and charging someone else to take over.
I asked when we were supposed to eat. He said, "Once we establish market value."
The host told him reservations weren't transferable. He nodded like she'd made an interesting offer and asked whether she'd accept equity.
Finally he came back and whispered, "Act more in love. We're selling an atmosphere."
I told him I was leaving. He asked me to wait because an anniversary couple was considering us.
I got tacos alone. He texted that I'd damaged his inventory. Apparently I was load-bearing ambiance.
