He needed closure on his viewing history

He picked a paint-and-sip class for our first date. I arrived expecting to paint a sunset and be a normal woman having a normal evening. Ambitious.
His ex was already there.
He claimed coincidence, then pulled a folded agenda from his pocket. Item one: "Restore my streaming profile."
Apparently she'd removed him from her account, and he'd brought me because she'd be "more reasonable in front of his new girlfriend." I had met him eleven minutes earlier.
His ex calmly painted her horizon while he explained that the algorithm knew him better than anyone. He couldn't rebuild that kind of trust.
Then he asked me to tell her he deserved his documentary progress back.
I said I was only qualified to comment on the sunset, which was currently orange soup.
His ex offered to tell him where he'd stopped watching. He said that wasn't the point; he'd also lost his little penguin avatar.
I moved to another table. He stayed to negotiate custody of a JPEG.
