He tried to pay in money from a board game
Entered in Week of November 2, 2026
He suggested dinner and told me to relax because he had “excellent liquidity.” I assumed this meant a normal checking account, which was my first mistake as a woman seeking romance.
When the check arrived, he opened a tiny velvet bag and counted out colorful bills from a board game. Not as a joke. He even licked his thumb like he was closing on a house.
The server waited for the punchline. So did I. We formed a community.
He explained that all money was imaginary and the restaurant should be excited to “get in early.” When she said no, he offered to throw in a plastic hotel. Then he asked whether the manager understood economics.
I paid for my meal separately. He accused me of undermining his negotiating position, then pulled out an actual credit card before the manager even reached our table.
As I left, he asked whether we could start over.
I said sure, but he would have to go directly to jail.
